I started this baby when I was living in Syndey for a few weeks. I was having a pretty tough time being so far from home, but working on this always made me feel a lot better. This track really feels like a culmination of all that I've learned over the years as a producer, and because of that, it means a great deal to me. I hope you all can feel a similar way when listening to this! Big ups to @WAFIA and @LouisTheChild for making the OG version - nothing can compare to that beautiful song, but I hope this comes close! Huge shoutout to the absolute legend @JNTHNStein for helping out with all the mixing and mastering - you really helped make this the banger that it is. Share this with everyone you know, yadda yadda yadda, I'll shut up now Love you all, Max ------------------------------------------- twitter --> twitter.com/JustMaxsMusic instagram --> instagram.com/juustmaax facebook --> facebook.com/JustMaxsMusic snapchat --> snapchat.com/add/maxthebanana ------------------------------------------- Artwork by Masaolab --> www.instagram.com/masaolab/

Just Max releases first single of 2019, stream it here — 'Better Not'

January 04, 2019 by Gems Secrets in Electronic, EDM, Remix

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Just Max released a flip of Louis The Child’s ‘Better Not’ (feat. Wafia) and it’s definitely worth checking out. Infusing live guitar, euphoric drops, and a colorful and melodic soundscape, Just Max delivers an awe-dropping experience that will send chills up and down your spine (don’t forget to close your eyes to get the full effect).

We admire what Just Max pulled off with this release and we look forward to hearing more from the young producer in the coming months. Knowing what he can do with a flip, we can only imagine what an original would sound like.

Don’t forget to subscribe to Just Max online to stay up to date on what’s happening next and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

“I started Better Not when I was living in Sydney for a couple weeks. I was having a pretty tough time being so far from home, but working on this track always made me feel a lot better. I started off with some piano chords and soon realized that Wafia's voice would fit beautifully into what I was creating. I've been such a big fan of Louis The Child, and it was such an honor to work with vocals from one of their songs.

I really put everything I've got into this track, and it feels like a culmination of all that I've learned as a producer over the years. Playing the piano and guitar in this song made it very personal to me, and I hope whoever listens to it can feel something similar to what I felt when making this.”

Curtis Lowe shares euphoric deep-house track 'Breaking Me'—Listen here

December 09, 2018 by Gems Secrets in EDM, House

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

For our readers who enjoy deep melodic house music.. Curtis Lowe and Naomi Wild teamed up to deliver this euphoric new dance track titled ‘Breaking Me’. The track kicks off with lush piano chords and soon leads into a beautiful vocal chop-infused drop.

We love the sounds and design Curtis utilized throughout the production and we can’t wait to hear more from him in the months to follow. Don’t forget to connect with Curtis Lowe online to stay up to date on what’s happening next and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

This is a project about collaborations more than anything. I’ve been writing songs with some great musicians and friends over the last year and am excited to begin releasing music under Curtis Lowe. The songwriting happened in a variety of sessions in NYC and LA, but most of the production was done alone in my apartment in Brooklyn. I drew a lot of the inspiration for the sonics of the project from 90’s House / Chicago House music, married with modern production elements, and darker songwriting themes. — Curtis Lowe

October 22, 2018 by Gems Secrets in EDM, Electro Pop, Electronic, Hip-Hop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

We love ourselves a good pop record from time to time but Staygold went above and beyond that with their latest work, ‘Snow Girl’ & ‘All I Do’. The Grammy-nominated songwriters and producers shared two new tracks this last week highlighting some of the duo’s signature and exceptionally sounding design in the arts of electronic, hip-hop, and pop music.

‘Snow Girl’ is an upbeat party starter for anyone who loves a strong hook over electronic production… Staygold brings a little bit of everything to their music, so it’s a safe to say, whether you’re a fan of EDM or Pop bobs, ‘Snow Girl’ possesses a lovable sound that you’ll want to share with all of your friends.

Co-produced by the UK’s Tom Martin (who counts David Guetta, Stargate and Tiesto as previous collaborators), ‘Meet Again’ is a softly undulating electronic cut that comes straight from the heart. The 21-year-old Dutch model and musician is following up his debut release ‘Bed Sheets,’ which has almost a quarter of a million streams and counting and landed at Number 4 in the Apple Music Electronic Chart. Having walked a spread of high-profile campaigns since 2015 as an international artist, for the likes of Versace, Dior, Gucci & Burberry, L’Officiel Magazine chose Ruben Pol as one of their ‘Hommes To Watch’ in both his careers. ‘Meet Again’ moves with meaningful flow; Pol’s brooding tones ripple over the surface of smooth chord transitions and a lightly sweeping electronic beat. The young talent says of this single: "’Meet Again’ is about a broken relationship and it reflects on the enormous value it still has to me. Although days turned dark and tears have been dropped, I’m sure in the end, somehow ‘we’ll meet again’.’’

Scorpion, an album by Dirtyphonics on Spotify

Dirtyphonics releases new song 'Scorpion' on their 10th anniversary

October 06, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Bass, Drum & Bass, EDM

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Parisian electronic trio, Dirtyphonics, released their 10th anniversary record last week ‘Scorpion’. This is a really exciting release, and not for obvious reasons. Yeah the group has been around for nearly a decade. Forging their reputation early on with remixes for Skrillex, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Nero, Diplo, Zeds Dead, Kaskade, which lead to their first label signing and debut album, "Irreverence" on Dim Mak Records in 2013.

But what really makes this track special, is the underlying classic drum n bass sound that started it all. We can’t get over how much of a throwback this track feels. What the group did here is absolutely incredible and if you’re a drum n bass fan at all, you’re in for a nice treat. Enjoy!

Twitter / Instagram

WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY:

"Scorpion is a throwback tune to the DNB we loved back in the late 2000’s with a contemporary approach. It’s pure raw energy and an hommage to what had inspired us in those years.”

Eskei83 drops relentless trap tune 'Make The Record Skip'

October 06, 2018 by Gems Secrets in Bass, Breaks, EDM, Dubstep, Experimental, Trap

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

For fans of trap and bass, Eskei83—German world-class DJ champion and 8-fold DJ battle winner—released an insane and flawless sounding trap tune a few days ago and we’re still buzzing off the production.

It kicks off with a gritty and bass heavy sample. Eskei83 utilizes a rather catchy sample for the overall theme of the track ‘Make The Record Skip’ where he utilizes his turntablism and DJ skills throughout the track and right before the drop.

If you’re looking for something to get your rave on, go ahead and give this a spin. Don’t forget to stay connected with the artist online by subscribing and enjoy!

Twitter / Instagram

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

“As a DJ with a long and successful Turntablism and DJ battle background, performing my tracks live was always very important, and still is. I scratch, do work with a sampler/drum pads and use turntables. My sets stand out because I’m not just playing tunes; I actually do something during the set. Especially in EDM/bass music, it’s not very common that DJs do more than just playing tracks.”
