Check out this brand new release from electronic artist Laiko 'White Volvo'

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Experimental, free-flowing, and exciting—these are just a few words that we could use to describe electronic artist Laiko’s latest release, ‘White Volvo’. There’s something about Laiko’s sound design that’s both tasteful and thought-provoking.

From the very beginning, the soundscape of the track has a sort of crackling texture that seems to bring vibrancy and warmth. Utilizing glitchy vocal samples, lush pads, and warm and crisp-like drums, Laiko delivers one of our favorite lo-fi inspired gems.

But what we really admire about Laiko’s work is how how emotional the track feels. There’s an uplifting energy that grabbed us from the get-go and it grew like a faint light gathering its strength to illuminate a room and before long… the world around you seems to transform all together.

Our latest obsession comes from BAYNK's 'Settle' (feat. Sinéad Harnett)

The new song features a vocal style so exciting and so moving, it’ll leave pull you in immediately and leave you wanting more. Sinéad’s vocal work and writing style is truly a work of art. Her ability to portray her lyrics with such rich imagery is powerful and poetic. Elevate that and fuse BAYNK’s colorful and melodic production style and you have some of the most thrilling work we’ve heard all month.

BAYNK details, "Meeting Sinead for the first time was like seeing a friend I hadn’t seen in 10 years. Catching up about what we’d missed over the years led to settle being written. I didn’t want to overshadow the touching vocal with intense production so I left it minimal and let the words dictate the music. Can’t wait for you all to hear it, Sinead’s voice is incredible."  

Harnett adds, "The first day I met Baynk was the day we wrote settle. As soon as I walked into the room I felt like he was family. I always enjoy those writing sessions the most because you feel comfortable enough to open up. The story behind the song was based on the in between before you’re with someone and after you’ve started seeing each other. That dreaded unknown and the confession that you do want it to move forward. BAYNK’s clean heart translates in his music and I’m so excited for us to do more together!"

“Taxi Man was inspired by an actual cab ride I took in Miami after a night out in Brickell with my friends. I was unexpectedly given unsolicited advice from a very wise old Bahamian man. His message really impacted me in a way that brought out dormant emotions of my past. I originally recorded him talking to keep for snapchat… But ended up using the actual recording in the song.”
