Bring Me Down, a song by Vera Hotsauce on Spotify

Vera Hotsauce releases catchy new single 'Bring Me Down', stream it here đŸ„”

April 03, 2019 by Gems Secrets in Electronic, Bedroom Pop

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Vera Hotsauce released their catchy new single last week and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you’re missing out. The artist’s writing style is fun and easy to listen to but what really grabbed us was the artist’s infectiously care-free attitude. The production and instrumental carry a heavy influence of hip-hop and gritty electronic elements creating an enjoyable experience from start to finish. We really enjoy what Vera is doing and we look forward to hearing more in the coming months. Till then, give this a spin and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

”The song is about friends who act weird and strange and never really stood by you or supported you in any way. However at last you find your main person who you can always turn to and who is your ride or die for life.” â€” Vera Hotsauce

Free Boy, a song by Restless Modern on Spotify

Have you listened to Restless Modern's 'Free Boy' yet?

March 27, 2019 by Gems Secrets in Electronic

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Restless Modern is back with a new single and we LOVE it. We’ve been fans of the artist for awhile now and with every new release, we become more and more obsessed... and for good reason. The instrumental features a calming yet unique soundscape (pay attention to the sound effects throughout the track) and the vocal performance brings it all together.

With every listen you’ll hear/feel something different and thats why this particular release sticks out to us. In a world where artists strive to all sound the same, Restless Modern stands out. Don’t forget to subscribe to the artist online to stay up to date on any upcoming releases and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

"Free Boy is more about who I am than what I'm feeling, which is a new sort of motif for me. The main anchor of the song is a really solid group of friends that I've had since just before high school, and (along with my long-term girlfriend) they've been a major support system for me throughout everything. It's almost a somber thank you and promise of future time together with some other elements brought in for context"

RK1, an album by Robokid on Spotify

Robokid's 'RK1' mixtape review (feat. Hotel Garuda, Kid Froopy, AObeats, & Manila Killa)

March 12, 2019 by Gems Secrets in Bedroom Pop, Electronic

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Robokid released his mixtape Friday and we’ve had the entire project on repeat since. When we tried brainstorming what we would review (seeming how more than several of the tracks have already been featured on our platform) we decided to switch things up for once. So, let it be known, this isn’t so much a mixtape review, but more of an appreciation post for the amount of hard work that has been put into ‘RK1’.

Not only does the mixtape feature collaborations with artists like Hotel Garuda, Manila Killa, Kid Froopy, and AObeats.. but it includes 4 new tracks highlighting the diverse style of an artist that not only stands out creatively and lyrically, but further instills the idea that honing such a unique sound takes patience, determination, and of course, a lot of hard work.

Everything from the artwork, to the typography, to even the vocal effects and sound design are unique. And to be honest, we see a lot of artists attempt to do what Robokid is doing, but unfortunately, it just isn’t the same.

You can’t fake authenticity and that’s exactly what Robokid stands for. Even when it comes to his work outside of writing and producing music. The artist runs a record label, creates meaningful art, and even shares his love for the fashion world on a daily basis.

As you listen through, pay attention to the details of the track and to the lyrics. Pay attention to how the artist performs from track to track, and last, allow this project to inspire you in your own work going forward. Don’t forget to subscribe to the artist online to stay up to date on his upcoming tour with Slayyyter and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

"This mixtape is special because it’s the first full-length body of work I am putting out after transitioning from DJ-ing and producing to writing and recording full songs. I wanted to develop a sound that was influenced by all my favorite music I loved while growing up mixed with today’s production styles. I feel that this mixtape is an exploration of the sonics of pop music from the late 80s and 90s, mixed with now, as well as laced with personal excerpts about the past and present." â€” Robokid

All Your Days, a song by Shallou, Emmit Fenn on Spotify

Have you listened to Shallou and Emmit Fenn's latest yet? Stream 'All Your Days here:

March 08, 2019 by Gems Secrets in Electronic

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

You would have to go out of your way to say anything bad about Shallou and Emmit Fenn’s latest. Titled ‘All Your Days’, there’s a faint magic to the artist’s sound and when you really pay close attention, it’s all within the details of the track. Whether it’s the colorful soundscape, the bright vocals, or the cinematic textures throughout the instrumental, ‘All Your Days’ is a gem from the inside out. For fans of indie, electronic, or IDM, this track is right up your alley. Give it a listen and let us know what you think down below. Don’t forget to connect with the artists online to stay up to date on any future releases and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

"Emmit originally wrote the demo for Coldplay, just his voice and keys. When he played it for me I knew we could come together and make something special that felt genuine to both of our sounds. We both wanted to express the simple moments of love. There’s so many songs about heartbreak that we’ve all written and heard on the radio, so we thought it would be nice to have a pretty song like this people can escape into or maybe reminisce with. Like a lot of my production, I like to infuse happy lyrics with a tinge of moody sounds to make them feel more emotional, and this track definitely exemplifies that." — Shallou

D.R.E.A.M., a song by Brian Bradley on Spotify

Brian Bradley's latest feels like a D.R.E.A.M., listen to their new song here

March 06, 2019 by Gems Secrets in Electronic, Experimental

WHAT WE HAVE TO SAY:

Classically trained and technically efficient, Brian Bradley is a photographer, explorer, musician and a visionary. With their latest release, ‘Before Light / D.R.E.A.M.’, the artist blends a luscious soundscape with eery vocals, cinematic textures, and tops everything off with a beautiful sounding violin. It’s a real treat from start to finish and if you have a quick moment, we strongly recommend you check it out for yourself. Don’t forget to connect with the artist online to stay up to date on any upcoming releases and enjoy!

WHAT THE ARTIST HAS TO SAY:

“The opening lyrics of D.R.E.A.M. "this is the life that you wanted, it’s the call of the wild, in the fog of the city I was losing it all, without you by my side, without you in my life, I can only dream." are representative of the dream we have of our life and the reality of our life in this moment.  Dreams must not be forever dreams. They must be lived. Life looks to be full of dark chapters when our fullest potential is not realized. It takes faith, true faith, to project oneself into the future and hold that energy of our new being. Faith is the process of allowing physical reality to mirror our dreams and anchor the new versions of ourselves with reenergized molecules.” — Brian Bradley
